Our Mission
At Star City TNR and Rescue, our mission is to improve the lives of Roanoke’s feral and community cats through compassionate, effective intervention. We are dedicated to reducing overpopulation by spaying, neutering, and vaccinating as many cats as possible, finding loving homes for adoptable cats and kittens, and providing education and resources to the community. Through collaboration and care, we aim to create a healthier and more humane environment for both cats and the neighborhoods they call home.
Our Goals
Reduce Overpopulation
Implement and expand Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs to spay and neuter as many feral and community cats as possible in Roanoke and surrounding areas.
Promote Adoption
Find loving homes for socialized cats and kittens through adoption events, outreach, and partnerships with local organizations.
Provide Veterinary Care
Ensure all cats in our care receive essential veterinary treatment, including spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and preventative care.
Support and Educate the Community
Offer resources and guidance to community members to help them care for feral and stray cats, including humane trapping, colony management, and TNR practices.
Build a Foster Network
Recruit and train fosters to provide temporary, loving homes for kittens and socialized cats while they wait for adoption.
Raise Awareness
Increase public awareness about the importance of TNR, responsible pet ownership, and the benefits of adopting from a rescue.
